Earth05 and UOCEAN® 2050 Unite for Climate Action: Over 100 Mangroves Planted in Kenya
In collaboration with Earth05 knowledge partner UOCEAN® 2050, over 100 mangrove trees have been successfully planted in Kenya — a direct result of the generous contributions from participants at the Catalysts of Impact Gala, held during World Economic Forum Week in Davos.
This joint initiative marks the beginning of a larger mission for environmental restoration and ocean regeneration, supported by Earth05’s global network of changemakers and investors.
“We are proud to launch this partnership in Davos and deeply grateful to everyone who contributed to this collective act of climate action. Mangroves are one of nature’s most powerful allies in combating climate change,” said Maria A. Dahrieh, Founder of Earth05.
Mangrove forests are vital ecosystems that:
-
Combat coastal erosion and sea-level rise
-
Store up to 10x more carbon than land forests
-
Provide essential habitats for marine biodiversity
-
Led by the visionary Chris Desai, UOCEAN® 2050 continues to spearhead global ocean-positive initiatives, driving impact at both grassroots and international levels.
Earth05 and UOCEAN® 2050 are excited to scale this initiative in 2025 and beyond, with further mangrove plantings planned in vulnerable coastal regions. Together, they are advancing Earth05’s mission to regenerate ecosystems and drive forward measurable climate impact.
Exclusive Auction for a Cause
An exclusive auction will feature rare, environmentally focused items and experiences. Proceeds will directly support UOCEAN’s mangrove restoration campaign, aiming to raise EUR 25,000. A real-time tracker during the event will showcase progress toward this goal.
"This is about more than fundraising; it’s about building a community committed to meaningful change," said Chris Desai, Global Director of UOCEAN.
Raising £25,000 for UOCEAN: Supporting Ocean Conservation and Climate Action
Throughout the evening, guests will have the opportunity to contribute to an ambitious fundraising goal of £25,000 to support UOCEAN’s ongoing efforts in ocean conservation, mangrove restoration, and climate action. The funds raised will directly benefit UOCEAN’s projects aimed at protecting marine ecosystems and restoring coastal areas impacted by climate change and will be displayed on a realtime monitor throughout the evening.
“We are excited to aim to raise £25,000 on the night for UOCEAN, which will help further our essential work in ocean and mangrove conservation,” said Chris Desai - Global Director of UOCEAN. “Together, we can make a lasting impact on our oceans and ensure a sustainable future for generations to come, linking these high end events with on the ground impact.”
Stay tuned for updates on upcoming reforestation actions and how you can support future Earth05–UOCEAN® 2050 campaigns.
