"In this era of unprecedented technological advancement, collective intelligence holds the key to addressing climate change. Water, with its vital three-day cycle for human survival, cannot be overstated." – Maria Dahrieh Founder of Earth05
Earth05 is a social enterprise dedicated to advancing sustainable solutions for the Water, Energy, and Food Security Nexus in the "Age of AGI" (Artificial General Intelligence). Our goal is to drive transformative change that enhances the well-being of people and the planet, with the ambitious goal of improving the lives of 500 million people by 2030—our first key milestone on the path to a sustainable future.
To achieve this, Earth05 established the annual Co-Creation Prize, launched in 2024, with a vision for 2050 that drives forward 0% waste water, 100% renewable energy, and no microplastics. By fostering collaboration among scientists, entrepreneurs, and innovators, the Co-Creation Prize leverages the power of collective intelligence to tackle global environmental challenges and accelerate impactful solutions.
Central to all Earth05 initiatives is the Return on Lives (ROL) framework, a metric established by Earth05 to measure the impact of innovations on both human well-being and sustainability.
ROL is a core metric that guides our efforts to create real, lasting change. At Earth05, we are committed to being a catalyst for the transformative actions needed to build a sustainable world by 2050.
About Us
Our Mission
To hasten forward co-creation across scientists and entrepreneurs and unlock collective intelligence in water sustainability and renewable energy for a resilient and synchronized Earth.
Status Quo
The current global water situation is dire, with over two billion people living in regions experiencing high water stress. By 2025, 1.8 billion people will face absolute water scarcity, and two-thirds of the global population could be under water-stressed conditions. Poor water management, pollution, and climate change are exacerbating the crisis, significantly affecting water quality and availability. Nearly half of the global population lacks access to safely managed sanitation services. The economic, health, and social impacts are profound, highlighting the urgent need for sustainable water management and conservation practices to ensure clean water access for future generations (UN Water) (Earth.Org).
Earth05 is committed to contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Central to Earth05's mission are key SDGs: SDG1 (No Poverty) SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequality), SDG11 (Sustainable Cities & Human settlements), SDG 13 (Climate Change), SDG 14 (Life Below Water), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
SDGs 6, 9 and 17 serve as foundational and guiding principles, embedded in everything we do, underlining our commitment to fostering innovation and building global partnerships for sustainable development.
