Inviting Innovators in Water, Microplastics, ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE & METAVERSE.

Anchor 1

The Earth05 Prize merges open innovation with co-creation, anchored in the Age of AI, is a commitment to accelerate the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goal's (SDG) by leveraging AI and cutting edge technologies to tackle water conservation, and microplastics pollution. We foster collaboration among scientists, academics, startups, and stakeholders, leveraging the collective intelligence and creativity of a global community. Driving technology with purpose to solve and unlock freshwater resources that have, up until now, been inaccessible.

A distinctive feature of this initiative is the opportunity for co-created finalists to test their innovations in a digital twin within the metaverse before real-world application, allowing for the refinement and validation of solutions in a controlled, simulated environment that accurately reflects real-world complexities.

The Earth05 Co-Creation Prize is calling upon forward-thinking individuals at the forefront of advancements in AI (Artificial Intelligence), AGI (Artificial General Intelligence), IoT (Internet of Things), Blockchain, Web3, VR (Virtual Reality), AR (Augmented Reality), the Metaverse, and robotics.

The prize will soon expand its eligibility to include enterprises, public sector, and indigenous communities.

  • 5. Can teams apply?
We encourage both individual innovators and teams to apply, recognising the diverse approaches.
  • 8. How are projects evaluated?
Main criteria focus on assessing how well technologies integrate, demonstrating open innovation and the ability to co-develop. Entries will be evaluated for their innovation, potential impact, feasibility, scalability, sustainability, and specifically, their readiness for collaborative development. This includes how technologies can work together to achieve environmental goals and align with the SDGs, ensuring solutions are not only innovative but also practical, scalable, and designed for long-term sustainability through partnership and collaboration.
  • 1. Who can apply?
We welcome applications from across the globe, targeting innovators, scientists, academics (PHD), entrepreneurs (startups) and enterprises committed to challenge the status quo’s water & microplastics.
  • 4. How can applicants prepare for the online pitch event?
Applicants should prepare a 10-slide presentation that highlights their team's expertise, the scalability of their solution, technological innovation, and readiness for collaboration. The deck should cover risk mitigation strategies, geographical considerations, and a wish list of potential partners. This includes specifying which peer technologies they aim to co-create with, which enterprises they seek for open innovation partnerships, and which government accesses are needed, along with the reasons for these choices. Additionally, the presentation should outline strategies for scaling the solution with potential funding, detail how you'd use €2-5M funding to improve lives in developing countries and indigenous communities, focusing on the expected social return on investment (ROI). Aim to clearly demonstrate the significant life improvements your project could bring to the underprivileged with this support.
  • 7. What criteria are used to evaluate the applications?
Applications are evaluated on their potential to impact and innovate within three key areas. For academics and scientists, the focus is on the relevance and impact of their publications and research, particularly in collaboration with startups, to ensure contributions are impactful and validated through solid research, publications, and patents. Startups, whether at the MVP, PoC, or growth stage, are assessed on their proposals' ability to significantly contribute towards the ambitious goal of improving 500 million lives by 2030, aligning SDGs. The ultimate assessment falls into three categories: 500M Lives: Based on the proposal’s potential Return on Lives (ROL), focusing on the direct and most significant impact. 2050 Net Zero Impact: Based on the contribution towards achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. (NZE Scenario) Next Gen: Assessed for groundbreaking innovation in water offsetting that sets the stage for future advancements.
  • 6. Can teams from any country apply for the Earth05 Prize?
It is an open borderless initiative.
