About the Event

Earth05 leads in pioneering 'Water Conservation in the Age of AI ©,' following our impactful 2023 webinars featuring panelists from water.org, Global Water Partners (gwp.org), and the United Nations.

The world is in the midst of the AI revolution, with AI touching upon every aspect of our modern life. Paradoxically, while AI has been proposed as a means of solving many of the world’s economic, social and environmental challenges, with water very much at the center of many of them, the use of AI also requires crunching large amounts of data, which in turn requires increasingly large volumes of water, for server cooling and offsite power generation.

Accordingly, is AI part of the solution for water issues, or will it just make things worse? In this thought-provoking panel, we hear about how much water is required to power AI and how much water consumption can be reduced through internal efficiencies and innovations and compensated for by “water replenishment” projects outside companies’ fences. We also learn how AI can be effectively employed to contribute to solving wicked water problems.
